Location
It seems that anywhere in Norfolk with "Next-the-Sea" in its name is at least a mile inland. This is certainly true of Wells-Next-the-Sea, but the two were linked by the fine little Wells Harbour Railway at the time of my visit.
The 10ΒΌ" gauge line, ran from the Town to the Pinewoods Holiday Park, just short of the beautiful sandy beach, and at one time it held the record for the world's narrowest narrow-gauge railway running a scheduled passenger service.
Although the railway did own a steam engine, Edmund Hanney, most of the work days was done by a pair of "steam outline" diesels.
