Aghadoe

Famed as a viewpoint, Aghadoe is also home to a number of ruins including an Anglo-Norman round tower known as Parkavonear Castle.

The most substantial remains, however, are those of the Monastery. This was founded in the sixth century but the ruins mainly date from the twelfth.

Amongst other things, there is a beautiful Romanesque doorway and a fine carving of the crucifixion.
