Like a miniature version of St Michael's Mount, Castle Tioram (pronounced "Chee-rum" apparently) sits on an island at the end of a causeway that is covered at high tide.
There, however, the similarities end. Tioram is a ruin, on a sea loch, in the middle of nowhere, and is not open to the public.
Traditional home of the MacDonalds of Clanranald, it was burnt down in 1715, probably to prevent it falling into enemy hands, and has lain in ruins ever since.
When we were there, there were a couple of blokes with a wheelbarrow and some cement attempting to patch it up, but its long term future is still open to doubt.
