I would like to introduce myself as the Marketing Manager of Snowdon Mountain Railway. I would like to respond to your article about the railway. By the looks of your pictures, it looks as if you visited some time ago. If this is the case I would like to update you on recent developments at the railway to improve customer satisfaction. In 2001, SMR purchased a real time booking system, that has enabled us to reduce queue length, and more importantly, time spent in the queue. There are now two kiosks in the ticket office (which has been relocated) and on the busiest days the queue moves much quicker. Unfortunately, our carriages cannot be any wider due to the space in the passing points on the mountain and as you pointed out on the busiest days we can carry over 1,500 passengers. Currently there is a new £9million visitor centre being built at the top which is due to open Summer 2008. Jonathan Tyler Marketing Manager

Many Thanks.
