I'm not too sure when the best time to visit the Reptiliary is, but it clearly wasn't a hot summer's day in July. Apart from an adder demonstrating how good its camouflage was, and a surprisingly active grass snake, all of the other enclosures appeared to be empty.
The main reason for including this entry is the nature trail that runs from the back of the car park through Holidays Hill Inclosure. An easy strollthrough a mixed, mainly evergreen, plantation.
The large reptile themed way marks ensure that it is almost impossible to go wrong. The only possible point of confusion is where the path back to the car park meets the main track leaving it.
There is an outside chance that a momentary lack of concentration could result in you going round a second time.
